FAQs

  • In the magical Pacific Northwest, more specifically in the outdoor playground that is Bend, Oregon.

Bend is on the east side of the Cascade mountain range. Think high desert, sunshine and tons of outdoor fun for all four seasons. Bend’s climate is more like Utah or Colorado, its very different than Portland or Seattle. Bend gets 300 days of sunshine a year (not much rain b/c it’s on the edge of the high desert) and has four distinct seasons to play in - from snow skiing in the winter, to summer river surfing or rafting, to sand dunes for moto missions, or massive red rock walls for rock climbing. Within a couple hour radius of Bend, we literally have it all. That’s why this town has been a hotspot for the outdoorsy for decades.

Bend is an incredible home base, but many of these trips take us up and down the entire left coast of North America - from Alaska to Mexico. You’ll fly or meet at launch points that could include Anchorage AK, Seattle WA, Portland OR, Salt Lake City UT, San Diego CA, Cabo San Lucas MX, Puerto Vallarta MX, etc.

  • Most trips I offer are all-inclusive with some exceptions mostly related to specialized gear. But generally my goal is to take care of everything so that all you have to do is pack your bags (packing list provided), show up and get out there.

I’ll have accommodations covered, meals and snacks, and all the beverages - even coffee and beer. Most of the time these trips include all adventure gear we’ll need too - from rentals to backup gear incase you leave something at home. On occasion, upon your request we can do all sorts of upgrades (at your expense) - example: upgrades in accommodations, or renting high-powered motos or sleds, or even booking an excursion that is above and beyond the ordinary (via helicopter, floatplane or boat).

Either way my goal is take care of all those kinds of details so that you don’t have to. Your life is hectic and busy enough. I want to make it super easy for you to say ‘YES’ and get out there.

  • Most of the time we’ll be roughing it, but you’ll have the basic creature comforts covered to ensure a good nights sleep so that we can tackle the fun outings the following day. I provide sleeping bags, pillows, tents, pads or cots. On occasion we’ll even have normal comfy beds. It all just depends on the kind of trip you sign up for. Either way, sleep is always super important and we’ll ensure you’re taken care of.

  • At my Base Camp in Bend, OR I have a outdoor hot water shower and a freshly cleaned porto potty. When we’re out and about we’ll typically have restrooms in or close to camp, and we’ll ‘shower’ in lakes, rivers or hot springs.

On occasion when we’re way out there we’ll have all the kit needed to dig ‘cat holes’ and take care of business out in a hole out in the wild. But that is more of the exception than the rule. During our excursions there always seems to be a restroom around - whether it’s a roadside gas station or restaurant, or pit toilet at a campground or trailhead. Toilets are honestly never far off and hasn’t been a deal breaker for any trips thus far.

We’ll have hand sanitizer and biodegradable soap for dishes, hands and showers.

  • Outside of the soul fueling outdoor excursions, the other tools and resources we’ll use are non-religious, non-guru, no-nonsense, and scientifically proven methods and bio-hacks for improving mental health and wellness while we’re together.

Think cold plunges in mtn creeks, hot soaks in natural hot springs, maybe get weird with some breath work, fireside conversations, barefoot walks, journal prompts, or quiet moments for contemplation (on top of a literal mountain) - just to name a few of the wellbeing practices we might explore.

The greatest hack is the digital detox that comes from being out of cell signal. It’s finally time to unplug and breathe in the fresh air! Combine that with tasty food, good drinks, camping in the woods, and some fun outdoor adventures and you’ve got the recipe for a trip that you’ll come home different from.

Also, at various points throughout the trip we’ll just be talking about your story, what’s working in life and what isn’t, and where you’re going next. It’s very causal conversations that are go-with-the-flow while we’re out exploring or back at camp around the fire.

I promise not to make it weird.

Essentially, it’s just a good ole time in the great outdoors, away from distractions, talking about real life, and making adventurous things happen.

Nature has yet to fail me when it comes to charging back up my batteries, and helping me feel more connected, in tune, and alive again.

Getting out into the wild makes us better men, which is kinda the whole point.

  • I have a strict ‘Safety Third’ policy - First rule is have fun, second is don’t die, and then it’s safety first… or third… you get the idea, haha.

The big picture for these trips is that we get a little wild and risky, but safety is still top priority. Do expect a few bumps, scrapes or bruises from roughin’ it, but you probably won’t die from this experience, haha. But I guarantee you’ll feel a lot more alive!

B/c you could get hurt, or die, liability waivers will be signed, and for larger trips I would recommend some sort of travel insurance if you’re worried about anything.

When we’re out of cell signal we’ll still have a satellite messenger for emergencies. We always carry a legit first aid kit, and we’re never more than a few hours away from a proper town - even the trips in AK or MX. If there’s a natural disaster or emergency we’ll play it smart and err on the side of caution. Everyones safety comes first.

For bigger expeditions we can even bring a medical professional with us (done it before) so that we’re ready for anything that might happen - especially when we’re further off the beaten path in Alaska or Mexico.

  • Safety first (not 3rd) is always the policy when it comes to guns. Generally guns are pretty fun out in the woods, but there is no need to bring your own firearm, b/c most of the time we’ll have plenty of weapons on hand, haha - bows, knifes, throwing axes, maybe pistols and shotguns just to name a few.

When we’re in bear country we’ll carry sidearms and bear spray with us.

For trips to Mexico or Canada, no guns or ammo or drugs of any kind, ever. Just spear guns, fishing poles and alcohol.

  • Alcohol? A few beers after a fun adventure and a couple campfire cocktails are included on these trips, but beyond that it’s on you. But these experiences aren’t about slammin’ beers and gettin’ sloppy.

Cannabis? Only where it’s legal and if it fits the vibe. Out on hikes, or in technical terrain, it’s off-limits. Most activities we’ll do are a natural high all on their own. Riding high on nature’s supply.

Some groups choose to go substance-free just to make it a nonissue. There’s plenty of alternatives out there these days, and NA beers have become pretty damn tasty! So whatever you wanna do is fine by me.

  • For Private Group Trips the most affordable options are going to be the trips right here in Bend, OR:

If price is a barrier for you when it comes to the Personal Retreat or Adventure Coaching (my two most intentional and impactful experiences), please reach out. I actually have mentors and partners who can help with partial sponsorships. Ultimately these experiences are meant to be a helpful tool and I’d hate for price to be a deterrent. So please reach out and we’ll work together to find a doable solution.

  • Indeed we can. That’s the dream right there. Collaborations are my favorite things and I do several of them each year.

For group leaders or coaches, I built a page to talk about this idea further: Partner

For brands or vendors, I’m always testing and reppin’ various products in the outdoor space. Reach out if interested in getting your brand out there.

    Travel Insurance:

    • I advise looking into third party insurance coverage. You can choose to purchase travel insurance through Travel Guard. THE WILD

makes us better men.

A man sitting at an outdoor table, stirring a cup of coffee, wearing sunglasses, a beige Patagonia cap, and a denim shirt, with a building and windows in the background.

I see it happen all the time on these trips...

It’s that spark of inspiration or a jolt back to life. A renewed perspective or that much needed shift. Maybe it’s the opportunity to get the boyz together to build the bonds of brotherhood. Either way, getting outside on a proper adventure is the recharge and remedy needed for us men during these modern times.

So come prepared for something special to take place. There’s some sort of magic out there beyond the city lights and cell signal. I hope to see you out there.
