About the book:
The Comfort Crisis is any easy read or listen. It will leave you emotionally sharper and practically tougher: less fragile in the face of hardship, more purposeful in daily life, and equipped to design a life where challenge fuels growth rather than fear.
This book is most helpful for those of us who struggle with too much ease, technology, and stress. It offers practical ways (like embracing "Misogi" challenges) to build resilience, meaning, and mental/physical health through strategic discomfort and reconnecting with nature. It's for anyone seeking motivation to reclaim a wilder, more fulfilling existence by intentionally stepping outside their comfort zone.
ACCOLADES:
Thought provoking adventure that weaves together findings from anthropology, physiology, neuroscience, and other disciplines. - Alex Hutchinson
Changes the way we think about the modern world and how everyday conveniences are eroding our understanding of what it means to be human. - Richard Dorment, editor in chief, Men’s Health
